We said: Morpheous Bondage Extravaganza 2011!

Did any of our readers have a chance to tune in to the live stream of Morpheous' Bondage Extravaganza Saturday night/Sunday morning? Though I was interested to view the stream, I didn't have the chance to watch online....but even better, L and I were able to go in person and we spent several hours there watching. It should come as no surprise to our readers that we both enjoy all aspects of bondage, particularly rope bondage. As I watched the riggers tie up the bunnies, I found myself wishing I was young and hot and in their place getting tied up too. I'm sure that L was not only watching closely to learn as much as possible and to get new ideas, but also enjoying all the all the hot young ladies getting tied. Why do we call them bunnies? The subjects of the ties all wore armbands with a rabbit outline on them. Bunnies seems like a nicer term than rabbits. Many of the women wore bunny ears at various times which reinforced the metaphor.


There was a bit of a lineup when we arrived and so we watched some riggers working in the two windows at the front of the building while we waited to get in. One rigger intricately tied his own single bent leg and suspended himself, inverted, while another male rigger tied and suspended a female bunny from multiple points on her body in the other window. We finally made it inside and didn't know what to look at first!

Music played throughout the open space, the beat throbbing and sexy. Tubular industrial beams were constructed along a roped off area the length of the room on each side with a vertical uprights of the same construction at each end. Suspension points were dotted along the length of the beams. In the middle of the room, four upright beams were connected across the tops provided a cube-shaped area for further demonstrations. There were about a dozen stations set up with riggers and bunnies in each one, demonstrating suspensions, pallet wrapping (I'm still dying to try this...hint, hint), using people as furniture and even needle play.

As fast as a bunny was tied and suspended, then they were let down, provided with aftercare and the rigger packed up to make way for another one. Sometimes a rigger would do one long elaborate tie/suspend session and yet others did quicker suspensions and then modified the suspensions several times to show different things that could be done - add a second leg, include bondage of toes or fingers, etc. After staying for a while we left to explore some of the other artistic displays that Nuit Blanche offered. Later on as the night grew quiet we decided to come back again. The line was gone and the room not as jam packed as before but the artistic ties were just as compelling.

Sometimes multiple bunnies were involved in a tie and in the case of an early morning needle play display, two bunnies were tied together, thin rope hooked around the needles. One bunny was seated in a chair while a second one leaned over her with one set of ropes trailing upward to the overhead suspension point while another set connected her to a second bunny and her needles, essentially leaving the top bunny neither able to raise up from her bent position without pulling on the needles embedded on the seated bunny, nor able to move lower to find a more comfortable position for fear of pulling on the needles in her back.

Another display of note involved palette wrap in the cube described above. A man was suspended vertically in the middle of the cube by only palette wrap, creatively and intricately woven through the uprights of the cube. Some pieces of the wrap were wide and sweeping, while others were twisted so that they were thin like rope and interconnected by an even finer web of even thinner palette wrap. The woman performing the wrap clearly enjoyed creating the labyrinthine design and the end result was just fantastic.

In yet another display, a tall bunny, dressed in all black in a bra top, slitted stockings, mini skirt and face mask and accessorized with a mini red top hat, red elbow-length gloves and red shoes - was tied and suspended from multiple points on her body. The same bunny earlier was secured, arms outstretched, to a bamboo pole, which in turn was suspended.

After spending more time on our second visit just before sunrise and the close of the event we decided to call it a night. We had a great time at the event, seeing enough to provide us with some new ideas for things to try as we learn more about rope bondage. In fact, I think a trip to the store is in order to buy some climbing gear so that we can try our own suspension.
